NRI Darshan in Tirumala is a special facility offered by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to accommodate Non-Resident Indians who visit India to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara. Understanding the unique status and travel constraints of NRIs, the TTD provides this dedicated darshan quota to ensure a smoother and faster access to the sanctum sanctorum without the long waiting hours typical during peak seasons.
Eligibility for NRI Darshan primarily includes Indian passport holders residing abroad with valid visas, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and foreign passport holders of Indian origin. Entry under this quota requires valid proof of foreign residence such as a valid passport with visa endorsement or OCI card.
The NRI quota darshan timings are specific, typically available between 12 Noon and 6 PM daily, giving NRI devotees an exclusive window for worship. To avail this, NRIs must present their original passports with valid immigration stamps from their last entry into India and carry other necessary documents at the temple entrance. The NRI Darshan queue is located at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex 1 (VQC-1), providing a comfortable and well-managed darshan experience.
Though NRI Darshan tickets cannot be booked online or in advance, this facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis for NRIs who appear at the temple within 30 days of their entry into India. This ensures fairness and reflects the regulations set by TTD. Children below 12 years can accompany parents free of cost with valid age proof.
While the darshan tickets for NRI quota come at a nominal fee of ₹300, they provide a quicker entry compared to the general queue but do not guarantee exemption from all wait times during peak crowd periods. Electronic devices and cameras are prohibited in the darshan queue, and devotees must adhere to the strict dress codes and temple guidelines for the sacred precincts.
